On the Market Northern Ireland and Isle of Man

Today we take a look at houses for sale at the national average price in Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man and take a look at the cheapest priced options.  There’s also a look at the advantages of living in either Northern Ireland or the Isle of Man.

In August 2021 the national average price increased to £333,371 because house prices actually dropped for larger properties, we have been concentrating our exploration on up to four bedroom.  However, as you will see we have had to select a six bedroom house in County Antrim to get near to the average price.  We also take care to select properties that are rural, semi-rural or edge of town.  Also included is a special property on the market on the Isle of Man.

When buying and selling houses knowing how prices are going and what is available elsewhere is an important part of strategy planning.  When you wonder how much does a house cost in another area or how much houses similar to yours sell for, it’s useful to have an idea about what is on the market and the prices in different locations.  We hope that you also find this information interesting as well as informative.

With six large bedrooms and comfortable accommodation, this detached house is in the village of Ballycastle, County Antrim.  Compared to the national average elsewhere it offers good value.  On the market at £350,000.

A few miles away close to Coleraine you can buy a four bedroom detached house with a guide price of £275,000.  This house benefits from a double garage and open plan living.

Rurally situated with outstanding countryside views is this four bedroom, three bathroom detached house with useful space, including room for a home office.  Sun terrace, gardens and garage add to the attraction.  Priced at £299,950 and located in Newtownards the house is attractive inside and out.

Located in rural Ballyreagh £285,000 or thereabouts will buy you this fantastic, Eco house featuring K glass, solar panels, condensing boiler and additional insulation.  The house has a detached double garage, loads of parking and is a four bedroom with study and sunroom home.

On the market in Lack for just £110,000 is a three bedroom village terraced house that is chain free.

A similar size and benefitting from parking is a three bedroom terraced house in Magherafelt that would benefit from some updating with an asking price of £73,000.

Northern Ireland

As this snapshot of properties on the market in Northern Ireland shows, property prices remain lower than many other UK locations.  Finding rural or semi-rural property in Northern Ireland is easy too, so much of it is rural and there is a real feeling of the opportunity to just breathe and relax.

Belfast with its international airport, port and attractions is easily accessible and probably the only place you will come across traffic congestion.

Northern Ireland has some wonderful coastline, beaches, lochs and mountains.  Prescriptions are free, the schools are good and they are actively encouraging business there.

In a cul-de-sac in Douglas, you’ll find this end of terrace with original period features.  The house has four bedrooms, two bathrooms and an attic set out as a hobbies room.  The walled courtyard garden is south facing and has a brick built store.  On the market for £350,000.

On the outskirts of Ramsey and just a short walk from the beach, you can buy this roomy two bedroom flat for £149,950

If you can spend a bit more for a four bedroom terraced house in Douglas, then this beautifully presented period property may just be perfect.  Updated, but with many period features the house includes a roof terrace and benefits from a new boiler fitted in May 2021.  On the market for £369,950.

There are a choice of two two bedroom bungalows on the market in Ballabeg, offered at £275,000 and £280,000 respectively.  The first benefits from being detached and having a garage, whilst the second is semi-detached and finished to a high standard and has the benefit of a corner garden.

If you have a much higher budget you may be interested in swopping your London pad for this house:

Those with a bit more money to spend may be interested in a detached seven bedroom generously proportioned detached house with an indoor swimming pool, gym, garaging for six cars, staff apartments and gardens of 2.6 acres.  The house is on the market for well over our preset budget £3,950,000 but will make a lovely home for someone.

Isle of Man

The isle of man offers residents an excellent quality of life, it has a temperate climate, the lowest crime rate in the British isles and you are never far from the countryside and the coast.  There is no problem with buying or renting property there when you have come from elsewhere in the British isles.  There are daily ferries and flights to the UK and elsewhere and a good bus service.  Income tax is capped at 20% and a zero corporation tax policy makes it an attractive place to work from home when running a company.

The Isle of Man has first class sports facilities, excellent schools and plenty of things to do.
